Why: Because carrots are low-calorie, and many people wonder whether eating more vegetables like carrots actually helps with losing weight

Summary

This article explains that carrots are helpful for weight loss because they’re high in water and fiber but low in calories. One medium carrot, about 85 g, has very few calories but a good amount of fiber, which slows digestion and helps you feel full longer. Since carrots are “low-energy density,” meaning you can eat a high volume without consuming many calories. They also have many nutrients, like beta-carotene, vitamin A, and potassium. Eating carrots before meals or pairing them with a little fat, like olive oil, helps your body absorb more nutrients.

My Opinion

I really like this story because carrots are cheap, easy to get, and simple to add to your diet. I think this makes carrots a really smart food to include if someone wants to lose weight or eat healthier. The website says they are “low in calories and high in fiber,” which makes them a great choice for the “volume eating” strategy, where you can eat more food and feel full without taking in many calories. One of the tips in the article says to “eat a portion of carrots before a meal to create a sense of fullness and avoid overeating during the meal,” and that’s what I’ve been doing almost every day before lunch for the past two weeks. I can honestly feel my appetite decreasing. When I eat them before or with a meal, I notice that I get full faster. Of course, everyone’s body is different, but in my experience, it has worked for me. I wouldn’t expect carrots alone to cause weight loss, but as a snack right before lunch, they seem like a great choice and from what I’ve seen in my own routine, they really do help with fullness.
